Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A 1-bit $delta$$sigma$ modulator using the first Nyquist zone has been reported as a method of directly generating an RF signal. If the image signal generated in the higher Nyquist zone can be used as the transmission signal, it is possible to output a signal beyond the Nyquist frequency. However, it is attenuated due to the frequency response of Non Return to Zero (NRZ) sinc function, and the SNR is degraded. In order to increase the power of the image signal, Return to Zero (RZ)-DAC is proposed and demonstrate using holding pulse with duty ratio of 50% or less. In this paper, we propose using Manchester coding with NRZ output to obtain higher power image signal than RZ-DAC in the specific Nyquist zone. We observe the SNR of 1-bit band-pass delta-sigma DAC in higher order Nyquist zone in the measurement. With the proposed method, we show the power enhancement of image signals around the odd-numbered sampling frequency. By using 1Vp-p / 8GS/s band pass $delta$$sigma$ DAC with proposed method, we confirmed that the SNR of 42 dB could be obtained in the 7th Nyquist zone (26.01 GHz).
