Abstract(in English) | This report is not a report on new technical knowledge, but is a report on an example of an initiative designed to help children and students to increase their interest in science and mathematics in science events. It is based on the implementation at annual event “The Science Festival at Miyakonojo Kosen” mainly for elementary and junior high school students in Heisei 25-27 (1st ~ 3th). It is a demonstration example while convincing visitors over 4th grade students that the data can be restored by calculation with the subject of error correction of one card in the sequence of several playing cards. Technically, error correction here is one symbol error correction similar to Reed-Solomon code. Since the number of playing cards is 13 and 13 is a prime number, only an integer operation is required without using an extension field. |
