Abstract(in English) | Due to the rapid increase of demand for the high throughput in mobile communications, the utilization of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission at frequency bands above 6 GHz has attracted huge attention in recent years. Since performance of MIMO heavily depends on the propagation environment, measuring its characteristic, known as channel sounding, is vital for the design of wireless communication system. Nowadays, VNA based channel sounders systems have been extensively used because of its implicit TRx synchronization and wide coverage of frequency band. However, there is disadvantage that it needs coaxial cable for its connection between transmitter and receiver, which limits the distance between them due to its high cabling loss. In addition to this, if the antenna can be identified as electrically small, coaxial cable effect on measurement data can not be negligible. In order to solve these issues, the authors developed the channel sounder utilizing VNA and Radio-on-Fiber(RoF) technology. In this paper, long term stability of amplitude and phase of transfer functions for all the antenna elements are measured for 1 hour to evaluate the performance. In addition to this, a test measurement is conducted in an indoor environment, and line-of-sight (LoS) and reflected paths are observed. |
