Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Design and control methods of networked information processing platform inspired by brain and living organisms are introduced. First, the advantages and problems of self-organization control methods, which are inspired by living organisms are discussed, and a new idea resolving the existing problems, “managed self-organizing method,” is introduced, which is followed by its application examples including potential-based routing control in wireless sensor networks and Yuragi (fluctuation) control. We then introduce evolutionary-adaptive control and design method as the next step of environmentally-adaptive control, which includes self-organizing control. It is based on recent progresses in the field of evolutionary biology. We next move to research issues on “networked information processing platform,” which are inspired by recent findings in brain science. We describe recent changes necessary for establishing new principles for design and control methods for networking systems, and then explain the basic principle for information processing way found in the human brain. It is useful for overcoming the uncertainty in the networked platform. A typical example is IoT, and “cognitive IoT” based on the human brain is finally discussed. |
