A Study on Dynamic Grouping Schemes in Co-evolutional Particle Swarm Optimizers

Abstract(in English) Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of optimization algorithms that imitate the behavior of organisms in a swarm. In solving high-dimensional optimization problems with many design variables, the search performance of PSO significantly decreases. As a method to improve such problems, co-evolutionary PSO algorithms have been proposed. In the algorithms, a particle swarm is divided into plural sub-swarms, and each sub-swarm searches partial solutions in partial search space. In this paper, we propose a method to reconstruct partial search space dynamically based on deterministic rules. In the numerical experiments by using some benchmark problems, the performance of the proposed method is evaluated.
