Abstract(in English) | Today, ICT services and/or user needs are diverging rapidly and related technological innovations are progressing strongly. Moreover, services emerging and commoditizing cycle will be much shorter. In addition, the steady advancement of transmission technology has been coping with ever-increasing traffic, and 100G-transmission speed is now matured. As described above, telecom carriers' transport networks are facing the dramatic changes in surrounding environment. Hence, in this paper, we propose the transport network system architecture that employs "transport function module" for enhancing extensibility of telecom carriers' transport networks, since the extensibility is key for handling those changes in a cost-effective and sustainable way. Furthermore, fundamental evaluations of the proposed architecture in terms of system investment and installing operation of engineers are also provided. |
