Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) over massive MIMO is one of the key enablers in the fifth generation mobile communications (5G), in order to further improve spatial multiplexing capability in a given channel as well as significantly earning antenna beam gain. Recently, nonlinear precoding (NLP) has drawn attention as an excellent strategy to obtain high system throughput in MU-MIMO downlink. While modulo operation in NLP can dramatically suppress transmit power, transmission performance may be dependent on its size defined by modulo boundary. In this paper, we investigate optimal design of modulo boundary to maximize system throughput under a transmit power constraint. Through numerical evaluation, we clarify the trade-off between transmit power and system throughput parameterized by modulo boundary, and reveal that optimal modulo boundary gives maximum system throughput.
