Evaluation on Uplink MU-MIMO with Distributed Array with Multiple versus One Switches

Abstract(in English) Multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) techniques provide the high frequency efficiency. However, it is known that the frequency efficiency depends on antenna arrangement of access point. Moreover, we have proposed the distributed antenna system (DAS) which selects a part of high dense distributed antennas and shown its effectiveness using narrow band signals in an actual indoor environment. In this paper, we proposed that a configuration and method realize antenna selection with received power and multiple versus one switch assuming an access point is attached external distributed antennas. In addition, we perform computing simulation using propagation channels by ray-tracing method and clarify the effectiveness of the proposed method. We evaluate the number of antennas and suggest appropriate number of antennas when applying the proposed method. Moreover, we reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing between the proposed method, random antenna selection, and maximized capacity antenna selection.
