HDR Imaging from LDR Images with Motion by Estimating Shutter Speed

Abstract(in English) Composition of High Dynamic Range (HDR) image from Low Dynamic Range (LDR) images has been comprehensively studied. In many of the conventional methods, the exposure time of LDR images are needed. If multiple LDR images with motion are used, ghost occurs in the resulting HDR image. In this paper, we propose a method of composing ghost-free HDR image from LDR images with motion by estimating relative shutter speed. First, motion region is detected between LDR images, and then the relative shutter speed is estimated in the static region. Next, HDR image is composed by generating a different weight in each region. Finally, we demonstrate a composing experiment using real images and it is shown that the proposed composition method can acquire ghost-free HDR image.
