Abstract(in English) | We present a method to predict the probability density function of the round-trip time (RTT) of a mobile/wireless network in an online manner by using data obtained from probe packets. Recently, various kinds of remote controlled equipments have attracted much attentions such as drones, rescue robots, and so on. Much of them are teleoperated from nearby via a wired link or a wireless link with good signal quality. If they have an access to the Internet, teleoperation with very long distance can be realized. However, especially on the wireless Internet connection, a transmission delay that changes drastically from time to time significantly degrades stability of responsibility of the teleoperation. Prediction of the delay might be able to improve the situation. In the present paper, we report measurement results of the delay of a Wi-Fi link with interference and compare the proposed method with conventional methods. The comparison revealed the proposed method can predict the probability density function more precisely with better stability. |
