Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The next generation information network is expected to further develop as a social infrastructure in all fields such as transportation, electricity, medical care, agriculture, and so on. With developing of the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G) and Internet of things (IoT), the network will go beyond the framework of conventional human-to-human information transmission means, and the subject of the user will change from "human" to "things" and/or "matters". Moreover, I believe that the network will evolve into "Massive Connect IoT", which will improve the intelligence of the network itself and create new value by analyzing big data from a huge number of nodes. In the wireless communication system constituting the Massive Connect IoT, various kinds of data are frequently exchanged among a huge number of nodes. Therefore, high efficiency and simplification of multiple access and access control technologies are indispensable, in addition to spectral efficiency, which has been regarded as the most important in conventional wireless systems. In this lecture, I will describe research on multiple access schemes and peripheral technologies that become increasingly important in the Massive Connect IoT era. |
