Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | In the previous paper, as the result of our own discrimination analysis: (a) the presence of a critical intracranial pressure (ICP) value has become clear, the critical ICP is 55 cmH2O. (b) The percentage of correct answers whether is higher than the critical value or lower is 100 %. This paper investigated whether ICP can be assessed by the 25 factors selected as independent variables of the external auditory canal pressure (EACP) pulse waves. The nonlinear data modeling to discover complex relationships was analyzed by IBM SPSS neural networks (the multilayer perceptron: MLP). Above the critical ICP value, because of the small number (3) of patients, the result of the MLP with predictor categories that were present in the training set of data is that (c) the standard error of the estimate is 1.3 cmH2O in the range from 55.1 to 101.6 cmH2O. The critical ICP value or below, because of the number of patients is 37, the MLP was analyzed with the others predictor categories that were not present in the training set of a patient. The results show that (d) the standard error of the estimate is 3.0 cmH2O in the range from 0.95 to 30 cmH2O, and (e) it is 4.3 cmH2O in the range from 30.1 to 55 cmH2O. |
