Abstract(in English) | At National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), by utilizing the features of satellite communications such as wide area, multicast, disaster tolerance, we realize the high speed and large capacity communication required in ICT society. In addition, we are pursuing research projects aimed at realizing super high speed communication of international Internet access, especially the Wideband Internet Engineering Test and Demonstration Satellite (WINDS) using radio frequency Ka band in the Asia Pacific region. In the satellite communication using the radio frequency Ka band, in particular, since radio wave attenuation due to rain affects the communication line. Therefore, the models of rainfall amount and rain attenuation are required in order to perform smooth communication. |
