Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examined the effectiveness of presenting emotion recognition information with accuracy information for assisting awareness communication on audiovisual telecommunication system. Sixteen participants observed an experimental collaborator who had induced his/her emotion, and presumed the collaborator's emotion on four conditions: DIRECT (direct environment), REMOTE (remote environment with no information), REM70% (remote environment with emotion recognition information with 70% accuracy information), REM90% (with 90% accuracy information). Degree of transmission and feeling transmission of emotion were evaluated. The results showed that the degree of transmission and feeling transmission of emotion were no significant difference between DIRECT and REMOTE, but the degree of transmission of emotion significantly increased in REM70% rather than DIRECT and REMOTE. Further, the effectiveness was influenced by accuracy information, the degree of transmission of emotion therefore significantly increased in REM70% rather than REM90%. On the other hand, participants were not aware of the effectiveness of increasing the degree of transmission of emotion.
