Method of Plane Wave Excitation to Optical Leaky Waveguide

Abstract(in English) This paper presents plane wave excitation to wide optical leaky waveguide antenna. In optical communications, high antenna gain and beam scanning are required due to its high propagation loss. We should make antenna large to realize high antenna gain. It is difficult to excite plane wave for large optical leaky waveguide antenna. To solve this problem, we propose the taper array waveguide and offset parabolic reflector. We show that both methods enable to excite plane wave with keeping aperture efficiency and small space in the simulation.
