Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the utilization of Unmanned Aircraft (UA) has been growing in various fields. Especially, it has attracted attention as a safe and quick observation method in disaster areas. Furthermore, the usage of multiple UAs has been suggested to observe several areas at the same time. Also, expected flight areas of UAs are expanding as well. In areas where radio waves from a ground station are not reachable, UAs can hand over the communication to a satellite station so that UAs can maintain the communication link. In this case, the quality of communication of the ground system and the satellite system is compared, and then handover (HO) is implemented when the quality of communication of the satellite system exceeds the quality of the ground system. As the indicator of quality, Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) and Carrier to Noise Ratio (CNR) have been used in conventional studies. However, these indicators do not consider the amount of allocated resources. Thus, there is a possibility that throughput will decline. Therefore, to maintain high throughput, we propose the HO detection method based on expected throughput.
