Zero-Dispersion Wavelength Optimized Single-Mode Multi-Core Fiber for WDM transmission at O-band

Abstract(in English) We propose a novel single-mode fiber (SMF) with the optimum zero-dispersion wavelength for a high-speed GbE system. We propose and design an SMF with the trench-assisted dual-shape index profile to realize both longer zero-dispersion wavelength and other optical properties compatible with SMF. In this work, we fabricated an 8-core fiber with standard 250-?m coating diameters to consider the parallel transmission for beyond 1 Tbit/s. The fabricated 8-core fiber is potentially applicable to 40-km bi-directional 1.6TbE transmission on one fiber.
