Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A capsule endoscope, which is an example of applications for implant communications, mainly uses 400 MHz medical implant communication service (MICS) band for image transmission. However, the 400 MHz MICS band has a problem that the transmission speed is strictly limited to several-hundred kbps due to its narrow bandwidth limitation. On the other hand, ultra wide band (UWB) low-band commutication enables high-speed transmission as compared with the MICS band, whereas the UWB low-band has large signal attenuation because the UWB signal propagates through a human body. As a result, the UWB low-band causes degradation of the reliability for implant communications. In order to solve these problems, we focuse on 920 MHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band that attracts great attention in recent years. In this paper, we analyzed the propagation characteristics of the implant channel at 920 MHz band by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method with a numerical human model. Additionally, we evaluated and discussed the transmission performances based on the derived propagation characteristics.
