Abstract(in English) | In this paper we propose sequential prediction methods with nonparametric estimator of non-homogeneous poisson process (NHPP)-based software reliability models to assess software reliability quantitatively with grouped data. Especially, we focus on prediction of the number of software bugs based on a naive estimator or a constrained nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator which is the most typical one in nonparametric estimator. More specifically, we predict the number of software bugs in the next time instant, taking account of the moving average of estimated failure intensity function at present time. Through numerical examples with grouped data which are observed in actual software development projects, it is revealed the superiority of proposed prediction method based on nonparametric estimator compared with parametric ones. |
