Abstract(in English) In order to construct optimum Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) communication environments, an Access Point (AP) placement problem have been studied. Generally, many metrics are used for the AP placement problem. One of these metrics is AP's throughput, and various AP throughput prediction methods have been proposed and evaluated to apply the AP placement problem. However, a time complexity of previous AP throughput prediction method is depend on the number of terminals. That is, the previous methods are not adequate to the throughput prediction for large WLAN systems which is constructed by many terminals connected to a AP. This paper introduces fast throughput prediction method using probability distribution for IEEE 802.11 WLAN.
