Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) LED lightning with pulsed width modulation (PWM) method is growing in use of modern electronic devices. This method can control brightness of pulsed LED lights by changing duty ratio of lights-on and lights-out time. In this study, visual recognition measurements of human eyes were conducted with various duty ratios of pulsed LED lights over multiple wavelengths. Some results of visual recognition measurements revealed false recognitions that the pulsed lights had same brightness with DC or were brighter than the DC light. Although the emitting time of pulsed light with less than 100% duty ratio of PWM is shorter than that of DC light, the number of the false recognitions increased in proportion to the duty ratio of pulsed light. It varied with wavelengths of lights that a threshold of averaged duty ratio recognized as same brightness with DC lights.
