Study on Cross-Talk Free Polarization Splitter Based on Photonic Crystal Fiber with Double-Hole Unit Core

Abstract(in English) Cross-talk free polarization splitter (PS) based on elliptical-hole core circular-hole holey fiber (EC-CHF) has been proposed. However, it suffers from a low structural tolerance due to the elliptical air holes in the core. Therefore, in this study, we proposed a novel PS based on the same principle using single-polarized PCF with double-hole unit core. Simulation result by using beam propagation method illustrates that a completely polarization splitting is realized at the device length of 2505 μm. Moreover, the structural tolerance and wavelength dependence of our proposed PS have also been discussed in detail. Since there is only circular air hole in the PS, according to the fabrication process of PCF, our proposed PS can be produced.
