Optimization of modulation bias points on an optical modulator for RoF-based millimeter-wave radar system

Abstract(in English) For realization of stable operation on distributed millimeter-wave radar system connected to a radio-over-fiber-based network, an automatic modulator bias controller should be equipped with high stability for tracking the bias voltage fluctuation caused by the modulator bias drift effects. However, unwanted bias fluctuation and instability could be caused by the bias drift of the modulator when the modulator was operated under double-sideband suppressed-carrier operation condition. In the paper, we report the tracking method of the modulator bias control using a high-extinction ratio optical modulator with maintain of the extinction ratio high enough.
