Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The 5th generation wireless system (5G) has been attracting much attention. The frequency range higher than 6 GHz is planned to be used in the 5G system. Patch antenna arrays will be implemented in mobile terminals to improve transmission quality in the high frequency bands. The incident power density is used as a metric for electromagnetic wave exposure at the frequency higher than 3 or 10 GHz to prevent human from adverse health effect caused by the temperature elevation. However, international standards and guidelines have different definitions on the area that the power density should be averaged over. No clear rational for the averaging area and limit has been mentioned in the standards/guidelines. This study discussed the effect of averaging area on the relationship between incident power density and temperature elevation in a multi-layer model simulating a human body.
