An MU-MIMO Extension of Uplink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access based on Coded OFDM with Low Latency and High Reliability

Abstract(in English) Toward the realization of wireless control of machines such as robots and vehicles, the authors have proposed a new physical layer architecture for low-latency and ultra-reliable non-orthogonal multiple access based on low-rate coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) with super-orthogonal convolutional codes (SOCC). In this study, we extend the proposed system to multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) model and evaluate its fundamental performance. Since, the proposed system employs subcarrier hopping to achieve higher frequency diversity over quasi-static fading channels, the number of non-orthogonal users per subcarrier, and thus interference power observed by each user may not be constant among subcarriers. We mathematically model this fluctuation of interference power and show the trade-off between coding gain and the interference power associated with constraint length of SOCC.
