Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cognitive radio systems need a flexible wireless access capability which enables flexible utilization of discontinuous spectrum and flexible wireless access with mixed transmission/reception of narrowband and wideband signals. Furthermore, they need excellent adjacent channel leakage power (ACLP) / adjacent channel interference (ACI) performance for more flexible spectrum utilization. The authors have proposed a novel overlap FFT filter-bank using smoothing technique to improve ACLP.ACI by smoothing discontinuous impulse response when connecting two successive waveform of two FFT/IFFT blocks. The proposed FFT filter-band has different frequency response according to smoothing length, signal bandwidth and roll-off factor because the impulse response of the filter can be different according to roll-off factor, and signal bandwidth. This paper evaluates ACLP/ACI and EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) according to major design parameters i.e. smoothing length, roll-off factor and signal bandwidth and describes design and performance of the proposed FFT filter-bank.
