Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The rapid development of wireless technology, such as the fifth-generation mobile communication above 10 GHz, has led to widespread concerns regarding adverse human health effects caused by exposure to electromagnetic fields. International standardization bodies have established guidelines for electromagnetic fields (EMFs) exposure limits. However, the biological rationale for exposure limit is insufficient, especially above 10 GHz. In this study, an electromagnetic-thermodynamics simulation model was compared with experimental thermal responses during localized exposure in the rat cortex. The error between computed and measured temperature elevation was lower than 10 % by including regional cerebral blood flow parameters that are extracted through experimental measurements at frequencies up to 10 GHz.
