Experiment on Softness Identification of Objects in Remote Robot System with Haptics

Abstract(in English) By experiment, this report investigates how accurately users can identify the softness of multiple objects in a remote robot system where each user operates a remote industrial robot by using a haptic interface device. In the experiment, each user judges which one of two balls with different softness the user is pushing by a metal rod attached to the industrial robot arm. We also compare the correct identification rate when stabilization control using the phase control filter in combination with the wave filter is performed and that when the control is not exerted.Then, we quantitatively illustrate the effect of the control.
