Development and Field Experiments of Autonomous D2D Networks for Information Sharing Service

Abstract(in English) NICT has developed and deployed a testbed based on the concept of peer aware communication (PAC), where PAC is used to refer the fully distributed and self-coordinated device-to-device (D2D) wireless networks. The testbed was originally developed for public information and bus GPS location sharing services by employing community vehicles as main components. Since the MAC frame design is one of central importance for the whole system. It directly affects the delivery latency as well as system capacity. We mainly study and evaluate the system performance with different MAC frame designs using our experimental testbed. The results show that the information sharing is obtained within acceptable success rate and time delay.
