A Study on the Construction Method of the Virtual Cell for the Information Diffusion by Device-to-Device Communication

Abstract(in English) Device-to-device (D2D) communications such as Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth can enable local area communications by mobile devices. Therefore, these technologies make it possible to share information without communication infrastructures, so it has attracted attention from many researchers as the communication method when base stations are damaged in case of disaster. In order to pass on the safety information about the victims and rescue information by disaster responce organizers to many users, we need a system that can spread and gather information over a wide range. However, it is difficult to implement this system because devices can communicate with only neighboring ones on the conventional D2D communication technology. Hence, in this study, we propose a D2D communication method using the virtual cell with the location information of mobile devices. Our proposed method enables to diffuse information by reusing the same channel spatially and scheduling with TDMA. Also, we evaluate the effectiveness of the synchronizing and scheduling control of our proposed system.
