Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is improvement of the control quality of wireless feedback control systems in terms of channel coding. The use of channel coding may reduce the packet loss rate. However, its redundancy decreases the packet transmission rate under the same bit rate and thus degrades the control quality. We proposed a channel coding scheme which does not decrease the packet transmission rate. Our proposed scheme reduces the amount of transmitted control information and instead adds redundant bits of channel coding. Two techniques of reducing the amount of information are proposed: one reduces the number of state variables and the other reduces the number of quantization bits. In this study, a technique combining the above two techniques is proposed. In our proposed scheme, how many number of quantization bits for each state variable should be reduced is adaptively decided on the basis of error covariance of state observer. We show that the proposed scheme improves the control quality without decreasing the packet transmission rate.
