Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To realize an intelligential society, wireless smart utility networks (Wi-SUN) connecting many sensors or meters will be introduced in various fields. To operate many terminals in a network, a hierarchical mesh networking protocol in Layer 2 routing (L2R) was standardized in IEEE 802.15.10. We proposed a load balancing routing algorithm that can be implemented to the received signal weakness (RSW)-based L2R considering the accumulated number of sending times and revealed this routing algorithm could improve the load unbalancing by computer simulation. To introduce Wi-SUN systems into various fields, it is necessary to evaluate the feasibility of the L2R protocols with actual devices. However, there is no report of experimental evaluation of multi-hop systems based on IEEE 802.15.10 L2R and its load balancing algorithm. In this report, firstly, an L2R protocol based on IEEE 802.15.10 and the proposed protocol with load balancing are implemented into actual Wi-SUN module with IEEE 802.15.4 complied RF device. Secondly, a multi-hop network is constructed in indoor laboratory environment with the Wi-SUN modules. The experiment results proved the feasibility and the efficacy of the proposed L2R protocol with load balancing. The proposed protocol improves the load unbalancing rate by around 83%.
