Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we describe the problem of the fuzzy membership function, which has periodicity, and provide one of its solutions. In the case that the periodic state, for example, the angle, the time, the colour and the like, is inferred by fuzzy approximate reasoning, the membership function in the consequent part of the IF-THEN rule is a periodic function. However, the crisp value of the periodic membership function is not calculated uniquely by conventional defuzzification methods because of its periodicity. Therefore, we propose polar coordinates transformation of the periodic membership function and its defuzzification method on polar coordinates.
