Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a wireless communication system that enables TransferJet communication by simply holding the terminal on the pad by extending the communication range of TransferJet using a waveguide pad. The waveguide pad allows the diffusion of radio waves across the pad without significant radiation. A TransferJet provides high throughput of up to 375 Mbps by a simple operation of bringing terminals close to each other. However, the TransferJet requires precise alignment between the transmitter and the receiver’s couplers because of its extremely short communication range of less than 3 cm. We experimentally demonstrate the feasibility of extending the communication range of a TransferJet with the help of a waveguide pad by more than three times while keeping its transmission rate at 50 Mbps or above.
