Single-Frequency Full-Duplex Active Tile 2-D Communication Using Bi-directional Amplifier

Abstract(in English) Active-tile two-dimensional communication (2DC) has been proposed for 100-Mb/s-class high-speed room-scale wireless communication using extremely low power radios. The entire communication channel composed of active-tiles has to support full-duplex communication to allow several transmitter-receiver pairs to initiate time-division half-duplex communication arbitrarily. Previously proposed active-tile scheme employed frequency division duplex (FDD) to achieve a full-duplex capability. FDD systems occupy a wide frequency band, including an uplink band, a downlink band, and a guard band between them. We propose a single-frequency full-duplex active tile 2DC using bi-directional amplifiers. An experiment with a prototype system is also reported.
