An Approach for Barter Exchange of Services on API Gateway

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an approach for ahieving the barter exchange of values provided by APIs of services. Most of web service providers publishing their own resources (e.g., data and functions) by exposing APIs. If theirresources are valuable, API calls for using them are also valuable. Service providers actually charge fees for API calls, and API users pay money to get rights of API calls. However, at this time, values of API calls are not comparable andthus are not exchangable. We consider there are the following inefficient facts: 1) we need to individually pay moneyfor each API call having different pricing model, 2) if API have a flat-rate pricing model, we have to abandon rights ofAPI calls if we cannot finish up them, and 3) even if we expose an API, we cannot use a right of the API for gettingrights of other APIs by exchanging them directly. In order to reduce such inefficient facts, we propose a method thatenables the barter exange of APIs by quantifying values of API calls exposed on API gateways.
