Design of Output Power Characteristic and Maximization of Transmission Efficiency Considering Waiting Loss for Multi-Paralleled Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer

Abstract(in English) Electric Vehicle (EV) has a drawback such as short driving range. Dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) for EV has been proposed to solve it. Multi-paralleled DWPT system is assumed in this report. Primary coils generate waiting loss in this system. Previous studies have only reported the amount of waiting loss. This report takes waiting loss into account to evaluate its effects on optimal load and output power accurately, and proposes a design method of coils and compensation circuit to realize intended output power. Consequently, system efficiency improved 2~3% by proposed optimal load and validation of proposed design method by simulation and experiment revealed that works under certain condition.
