Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A rapid increase of uplink traffic is predicted with the spread of Internet of Things (IoT). The 5th generation mobile communications systems (5G) requires that base stations effectively receive massive number of uplink signals transmitted by machine type communication (MTC) devices such as the IoT devices. To solve this problem, we have researched and developed techniques to increase number of devices that one base station can accommodate and to reduce latency. In this paper, to enhance signal separation performance of Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) that is a useful technique for increasing the number accommodated by one base station, we employ receive space diversity and then evaluate its performance by computer simulation. When applying the receive space diversity to the SIC, we introduce a maximum ratio combining (MRC) in frequency domain, and propose a novel selection combining (SC) where a receive antenna is selected on the basis of signal power to interference and noise power ratio (SINR) in frequency domain. By the computer simulation, we confirmed that the received space diversity could enhance the signal separation performance of the SIC under frequency selective fading environment. Moreover, when we compared the MRC and the SC that are employed to the SIC, the SC had almost the same performance as the MRC.
