| Abstract(in English) | This paper describes magnetic pulse welding of Al/Cu sheets using a 3-turn flat coil for two parallel seam welding. The coil for parallel seam welding comprises three pieces of metal plates which are electrically insulated, connected and are laminated. Al/Cu sheets are overlapped with an air gap and fixed on the coil. When a magnetic flux having two parallel high-density peaks is suddenly generated on the coil, eddy currents are induced in the Al sheet nearer the coil. Electromagnetic forces having two parallel peaks act on the Al sheet. As a result, the Al sheet was collided to the Cu sheet at high speed and was seam-welded in two parallel. Weld zones of the interface were increased, and high quality welds of Al/Cu sheets might be obtained. The peak discharge current for the magnetic flux was about 60-70 kA. |
