Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been developing the coiled stator ultrasound motor (CS-USM), which is a miniature motor capable of installing a driving source at tip of the catheter, for the purpose of application to intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Outer rotor type CS-USM has been reported for the offline imaging, however since the driving source is outside of the body, it is necessary to review the structure of CS-USM. Inner rotor type CS-USM has the positional relationship of right angle between the coiled stator and the PZT transducer for it is inappropriate for practical application. In this report, we proposed a structure for practical application by using inner rotor type CS-USM and measured the rotation speed. As a result, measured rotational speed of our CS-USM was higher than 1800 rpm which is the required for rotation speed of IVUS.
