Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a promising technology to gather seismic acceleration data on a structure. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), which aims to assess damages of structures, would expect to employ WSN for acceleration data gathering. In the case that a SHM system includes massive nodes of WSN, the system might lapse into network congestion. The system should be required to transmit data efficiently due to restricted communications capacity. A compressed sensing and transmission scheme has been drawing attention to achieve effective data collection in WSN. We are especially focusing on data compression based on features of seismic acceleration spectrum occupied in the frequency band of 100 Hz or less. In this paper, we review features of spectrum on seismic acceleration, and show a scheme of the compressed sensing. In computer analysis, we examine a compressed transmission method by band pass filtering in Fourier transform using actual seismic acceleration data. We evaluate an average absolute error of the compressed transmission data with respect to the original seismic acceleration. The results show the average error was 0.02 or less in conditions where the acceleration was measured on the upper floor even though the compressed ratio was 1/32.
