Abstract(in English) | Today, vital signs measurement systems, in which sensors are had contact with or closed to body surface, are widely prevalent. However, These systems cannot be used in the situation where continuous monitoring is required or a subject cannot carry sensors, In this research, a method to measure the body-surface displacement by breathing and heart beats for the vital signs monitoring are studied. The body-surface displacement is measured by ultrasonic transit time which is reflected from the body surface in the method. In this report, measurement of 2-dimensional displacement of chest by pulse compression using M-sequence and phase tracking in airborne acoustic images is described. First, the M-sequence modulated signal is cyclically transmitted by the loudspeaker and received signals of two microphones are correlated with the transmitted signal. Then, airborne acoustic images are formed by the obtained cross-correlation functionsThe reflection points on the body surface are determined from high brightness areas in the images. After that, 2-dimensional displacement beyond the resolution is estimated by phase tracking in the reflection pointsFinally, the subject's breathing and heart beats without close in a spine and standing position are monitored by the proposed method. |
