| Abstract(in English) | Perceptual characteristics of a talker’s voice are retained as auditory representations as well as linguistic information is, and are recalled during a linguistic task like reading. This study aimed at replicating the phenomenon called auditory imagery in Japanese speakers and examining whether auditory imagery would be influenced by the extent to which the content of the conversation by two talkers was perceived to be familiar to participants being the listeners. Whereas auditory imagery was found consistent with the previous studies, the influence of the familiarity perceived from the conversation on auditory imagery was not observed. |
