Abstract(in English) | Optoelectronic integrated circuits using surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) as signal carriers have been attracting attention because the circuits enables high-speed and large-capacity information processing. We have been developing the circuits, where SPP circuits and electronic devices are monolithically integrated. In this paper, we have demonstrated an SPP multiplexer/demultiplexer and SPP signal inverter, which operate in linear system. The proposed devices are composed of multimode interferometers, which are producible with CMOS compatible processes. The operation of each device has been confirmed numerically and experimentally, and we have demonstrated the feasibility of SPP circuits. |
