Propagation of terahertz pulse in photo-excited silicon

Abstract(in English) Terahertz spectroscopy is a suitable method for direct observation of carrier dynamics. In addition, the carrier concentration in semiconductor can be briefly changed by photo excitation. In this study, we built and aligned the optical pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy system for the elucidation of carrier dynamics, and measured the carrier dynamics of Si. The peak shift of the terahertz pulse is observed in the photo-excited Si. This phenomenon can be qualifiedly described by Drude model.
