Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The traffic volume for collecting sensor data from massive number of IoT sensors in a local area to the data center is large. The large amount of bandwidth of the links in the network is used. Allocating the path dynamically to each of the flows of the individual sensor devices based on the up-to-date available bandwidth of the links improve the efficiency of bandwidth usage in the network. Software defined-networking (SDN) techniques are suitable to dynamically control paths of the flows. The existing methods using SDN control the fine-grained flows for data of the individual sensor devices. As a result, large amount of control messages is exchanged and large number of flow entries are used in switches. We propose a method to reduce flow entries usage and transmitted control messages. The path is computed for individual sensor device considering the bandwidth usage. Then, the computed path is compared with the paths for the set flow entries in the network to search the overlapping part. In the switches in the overlapping part of the paths, the traffic for both paths is processed by the flow entries set for the existing path. To be compatible with the existing path, the matching rule for the new path is determined and the header of data packet is modified at the switch connecting to the sensor device. New flow entries that need to be set and the control messages are reduced.
