Abstract(in English) | In mobile networks, Quality of Service (QoS) of end-to-end connections is affected by the performance of various network components such as users' terminals, servers, routers, base stations, etc. In order to estimate a quality of each network component such as delay, we propose a novel network tomography scheme based on Discrete cosine transform (DCT) and Compressed Sensing (CS) by focusing on a structure of time series of delay. This proposed tomography is a method of estimating delay at each component by using network measurements collected by crowdsourcing scheme. By using two characteristics which are sparsity of delay time series occurred at wireless access networks in DCT domain and sparsity of delay occurred at servers, we propose the method to estimating the qualities of wireless access networks and the qualities of servers by the means of CS. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme through simulations by using actual measured data. |
