Abstract(in English) | We developed field management system with a field server that helps farmers decrease their workload or to pass down knowledge to the next generation of famers. We examined constructing a local wireless network for reducing the communication expenses of field servers. We conducted an investigation of the basic communication properties of LoRa last December, LoRa was judged to be most suitable communication standard in terms of communication distance. Here we describe constructing a local wireless network with LoRa to operate with a portable battery charger for 6 months from rice-planting to rice reaping. We describe in detail the main intermittent operation communication protocol for reducing electricity consumption. We constructed a local wireless network using the proposed communication method and conducted an experiment. As a result, it was confirmed that transmission and reception of data between the master unit and the slave unit performed normally. Also, when the master unit could not receive data from the slave unit, it sent a retransmission request to the slave unit. After that, it confirmed that the data was received from the slave unit. We calculated the power consumption of the field server. It was 146.4(mW) per day, and it was confirmed that it is theoretically possible to operate for 512 consecutive days. In order to reduce the burden of agricultural work, less frequent maintenance of the field server is desired. Therefore, continuous operation for 512 days is sufficient operation time for the monitoring of rice cultivation work. |
