[Special Invited Talk] Modeling and Analysis for No-Queuing Systems in Communication Traffic Engineering

Abstract(in English) In 1917, A.K. Erlang published a paper on the famous Erlang B formula for calculating the number of telephone lines for loss system with an unlimited number of sources. This paper is one of the pioneering researches of communication traffic engineering and queuing theory. Celebrating Erlang B formula's 100th anniversary, this talk presents some case studies of modeling and analysis for "no-queuing systems" including loss system, media access control, and infinite server system in communication traffic engineering and queuing theory. This talk includes, Markov analysis of basic loss system, M / M / c / c model as a tutorial, heterogeneous traffic model and trunk reservation, alternate routing model and equivalent random method, bandwidth reservation control for alternate routing networks with heterogeneous traffic, modeling and analysis for media access control, and analysis and application of infinite server queuing model.
