Abstract(in English) This experimentalreport relatesto problem-solving in English-Japanese machine translation, more particularly to the solution to ambiguity in Japanese translation fromEnglish general-purpose verbs. The problem can be solved not by deep learning but according to professional E-J translation knowledge concerning general purpose verbs and abstract nouns, and hence it is necessary to integratethe humanknowledge thereof into machine translation system.
